Mace: Lessons From an Ancient Club

A Mace is an ancient club...but its not so feasible today!

In the United States, there are some groups that should be particularly concerned with their own personal safety. While they each can't carry an ancient mace (a giant steel ball on a chain), here are the groups that should consider other forms of self defense, such as those listed elsewhere on this site:

Physicians, nurses and medical care professionals who come in contact with people who are disoriented, on drugs or alcohol, or unpredictable

Lawyers, police officers, and prison guards who are up close and often unprotected from vicious criminals.

People who travel and could get lost in a bad section of an unfamiliar town.

Girls and women who have to walk alone and/or in the dark.

Professionals who can be alone with adults who might be dangerous and they don't know (such as Real Estate professionals).

People who work in bars or otherwise work very late

Anyone who is not on these lists is not necessarily safe from problems. Almost anyone can be the victim of an attack. While carrying a mace might be a deterant and might build muscles (the steel balls on ancient maces were sometimes 30 pounds or more), they are not really feasible. Instead, look into self defense training for you or your loved one today.
